Mini Haul!

Hello everyone!

I'm finally home from my holiday in Ibiza which was amazing and now I'm starting to get back into the swing of everyday life I thought it was time for another blog post. Recently I've been doing a bit of shopping  so I decided I would do my first beauty related post and show you all the things I've bought! This post is just going to be the clothes I have purchased and there isn't that many of them then I will do a make up one and also a skin care one since I have bought rather a lot. Let's get into it...

First of all is a dress I bought from Primark for my holiday. It's a beige colour with lace detailing and I love it so much! There is a dip in the back but it doesn't come down enough to show your bra which is good however I would recommend a strapless bra with this dress because the way the sleeves sit, it often shows your straps which isn't the most attractive thing ever. The dress seems to be quite good quality for Primark with the material feeling quite thick. I love this dress and I think I bought it for around £11. 

Next I took a trip to Jack Wills aka my favourite shop and it damaged my Dad's wallet kind of a lot (thank you for that papaaaa). First of all I bought this off-white oversized jumper with the pink Jack Wills sign on it. I had this jumper last year and I loved it then my mum shrunk it in the wash so replaced it for me. It's so comfortable and warm so since the summer is ending, I'm starting to revamp my wardrobe for the winter and this jumper is perfect. The jumper was actually in the sale when I bought it so it was about £40 but I think usually it is around £69ish but I'm not 100% sure. 

Next from Jack Wills, I bought this white 3/4 sleeved top with navy blue stripes. Again, I bought it a few sizes bigger because I thought it would look really cute with leggings on. I've worn this a few times already and I love it. I wouldn't wear it anywhere that requires me to look a bit more formal because it is a bit of a "sloppy" top which you would wear more for running errands but nevertheless, I love it. I bought this for around £60 I think but again, I'm not sure so I could be so wrong. (it looks so unflattering in this picture but believe me when I say it's nice haha).

The final thing I bought from Jack Wills was the most damaging to my Dad of all so I'm incredibly thankful he bought it for me. It's probably my favourite thing in this whole haul and it's this gorgeous green winter coat. It has elbow pads which I love and it fully lined inside it. The sleeves are oversized and you could throw it on over jeans, leggings or even a dress in the winter and it would look good. It isn't fully waterproof but is "drizzle proof" so if it rains you wouldn't get soaked but it would be best to have an umbrella to hand also.  I will definitely get a lot of wear out of this coat and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice fashionable yet practical coat. Next is H&M. I'm not really a big lover of this shop and it's very rare that I'd come away with anything from there but when I saw this black and white aztec top I thought it would be perfect to take on holiday as something to throw over my bikini when I'm walking round. Due to what I was using it for I bought it in a large so it was really big on me but I love it. Now it's had all the suncream washed off it and doesn't smell of holiday anymore (whatever that smells of) I might even start to wear it out because I've just fallen in love. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for this (I probably should have kept the recites for all this stuff) but it was definitely under £10 which is great!  

Then I took a trip to New Look which is usually one of my favourite shops because as well as being cheap, the clothes are usually quite good quality and very cute. However recently I haven't been loving it so much and it's becoming very common for me to go in there and walk out without purchasing anything so I when I was in the Liverpool store with my friends and I saw this, even though it didn't blow me away I thought it was cute so I bought it. Whilst on holiday I wore this with a pair of denim shorts. It's a flattering top due to it being so floaty, my only criticism is that I had to put a vest top under it because the top is quite tight so you could see my bra. Other than that, I quite liked this top considering I only paid a couple of pounds for it.  

Finally for the clothes, I went into Republic and since it is closing down there was a hugeeeee sale on there and I think I got 75% off this crop top. It's a white colour with black writing on and the sleeves are turned up. I wouldn't normally wear a cropped top since I'm not exactly the most confident person when it comes to my body but it's quite long so when I wore it with a high-waisted skirt, it only shown like 1cm of skin so I'm really happy with this top. I'm not sure how much it was due to the sale or even if you can still buy it but yeah, I'm a big fan of this top.

This or That Tag!

Hello everyone!

I'm still trying to think of what I really want this blog to be. I definitely want it to be a beauty blog but I'm not 100% sure of the direction I want to take it yet, so until I figure that out I thought I would do more posts where you could get to know me a bit better. So here is the "This or That" tag. Although nobody actually tagged me, I thought it would be a fun thing to do, so here it is;

Makeup:

Blush or Bronzer- Blush. I don't actually own any bronzer right now since it ran out and I haven't repurchased any, I know, great beauty blogger....

Lipgloss or Lipstick- Definitely lipstick. I'm not a big lipgloss lover as the majority of the ones I have make my lips feel very sticky and horrible. I also don't think they are as highly pigmented which I like so I prefer lipsticks on the whole. However, I'm always open to trying new things so if you have any lipgloss recommendations  leave them in the comments and I may give them a sneaky try.

Eye liner or Mascara- Mascara. I do like eye liner but only if I am going out somewhere that requires me to be a bit more well dressed. I wear mascara every day though and I think it really brings a make up look together.

Foundation or Concealer- I wear both on an everyday basis but I feel like concealer makes more of a difference so I'd say that. Thankfully, I don't have the worst skin ever and only suffer from breakouts every now and again so I could easily survive without foundation. Plus, in my school we aren't allowed to wear make-up at all so all I can really get away with is a bit of mascara and concealer, so I wear that much more than I do foundation.

Neutral or Colour Eye Shadow- Neutral. I'm not a big eye-shadow wearer (if that is even a word haha) in the first place and only really put it on for my dance shows but if I had to wear it, I'd always reach for a neutral pallet first.

Pressed or Loose Eyeshadows- Pressed. I've never actually used loose ones but they look as though they'd be super messy and have a lot of fall down.

Brushes or Sponges- I personally prefer using sponges to apply my foundation even though you end up using a lot more since the sponge obsorbs some of it, I just prefer it as you don't end up with awkward brush strokes down your face. However, other than for foundation, I use a brush for everything else so both I suppose?

Nails:

OPI or china glaze- I just googled these to see what they were haha! I've never owned either so I can't really judge them. My personal favourite nail varnish brands are Essie and Barry M, especially the Gelly ones!

Long or short- Long. I hate hate hate having short nails. 

Acrylic or natural- Natural. I like just painting them normally however if it is a special occasion then I do enjoy going to get a manicure and having acrylics.

Brights or darks- Brights for summer, darks for winter.

Flower or no flower- No flower. I'm quite boring when it comes to nails and just have them one colour with no nail art or anything.

Body:

Perfume or Body Splash- Perfume. I love Justin Bieber's perfumes, the Marc Jacobs Daisy and I actually really love Peter Andre's Mysterious Girl, I've had about 3 bottles of it!

Lotion or Body Butter- Body Butter. The Soap and Glory ones are my favourite.

Body Wash or Soap-  Body wash. I think they are a lot more scented so leave you smelling a lot fresher than soap. I do use soap to wash my face though because I don't like putter extremely heavily scented stuff on my skin in case I have a reaction or something, I don't know I'm weird ok...

Lush or Other Bath Company- I do love Lush but I think Soap and Glory are my favourite bath company.

Fashion:

Jeans or Sweat Pants- Jeans for going out, sweat pants for a lazy day watching films.

Long Sleeve or Short- Short. Even in the winter I wear short sleeves but with a cardigan/jumper/coat over the top.

Dresses or Skirts- I love both. In this rare sun we've had in England, they're all I have been wearing. They're so cute and girly and I find that you can dress them up or dress them down, depending on the look you are going for.

Stripes or Plaid - I can't say I'm a bigger lover of either but I will say stripes purely because I bought a cute top from Jack Wills the other day which is stripy. (I'm going to do a haul post soon with the things I have bought recently and it will be in there)

Flip Flops or Sandals- Unless I'm going to the beach, sandals. Flip flops have a tendency to fly off my feet which is highly annoying for not only me, but the people who unfortunately find themselves walking in front of my at the time and end up with a flip flop flying into the back of their legs..

Scarves or Hats- I wish I could say hats because beanies are the  cutest things ever in the winter but they just don't suit me, so scarves.

Studs or Dangly Earrings-  My school only allows one pair of studs so that's all I really wear and I always forget to change them at the weekends, so yeah, studs.

Necklaces or Bracelets- Bracelets. I usually have at least 4 on haha. I only really like long necklaces whereas I love all kinds of bracelets.

Heels or Flats- Well being 5'10" there is really no need for me to wear heels, so flats. I'm a big lover of converse.

Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots- Neither. Haha.

Jacket or Hoodie - Jackets for going out, hoodies for staying in and having lazy days.

Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe-  Forever 21, I adore that shop. I'm also super excited because they are building one in Liverpool which is the main place I go to shop so no longer will I have to order the things I get from there online! 

Abercombie or Hollister- I don't wear either, I'm more of a Jack Wills fan than either of them. I do love the Hollister body sprays though. 

Saks 5th or Nordstrom- Am I supposed to have heard of these shops? Haha. They don't have them where I live so I don't know.

Hair:

Curly or Straight- I have naturally wavy hair so it is kind of in between the both. I tend to straighten my hair more than I curl it and even if a curl it, I do it by sleeping with my hair in a fishtail braid instead of actually using curling tongs. 

Bun or Ponytail- Ponytail. 

Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips- Bobby pins, I don't think I've worn butterfly clips since I was about 8.

Hair Spray or Gel- Hairspray, I always thought gel was for boys?

Long or Short- Long. I'm in the process of growing my hair but it's taking forever. 

Light or Dark- Either. My hair is dark brown in the winter but then in the sun, it turns a light brown with blonde streaks in it since when I was little my hair was blonde.

Side Sweep Bangs or Full Bangs- Well here in England, we call that a fringe, but on me, neither. I have had every possible style of fringe in my life and ended up growing them all out because I hated them.

Up or Down-  I like both. I like having it down because it looks nice and like you made an effort with it but I like having it tied up out the way. I have a weird thing where I have to have my hair up if I'm going to go shopping otherwise it will annoy me, I have no idea why. I like having it in a fishtail braid at the side as well.

Random:

Rain or Shine- Shine. Who likes rain?

Summer or Winter- SUMMER!

Fall or Spring- That's Autumn to me haha. But spring, I like all the cute flowers.

Chocolate or Vanilla- I assume we are talking about ice cream here so vanilla.

East Coast or West Coast- Pardon?

Get To Know Me!

Hello Everyone!

I've been tossing the idea of making a blog around for sometime now and today I finally decided to start one. Reading blogs such as Zoella's, Louise's, Ingrid's and Fleur's has really inspired me to put any worries about doing this I have aside and just go for it. Not only that, but since in the future I would love to pursue a career in journalism (preferably for a beauty/fashion magazine) I decided that this would be a perfect way to expand on my knowledge. 

I thought it would be appropriate for my first blog post to be a bit of a "Get To Know Me" thing, although I highly doubt many people will read this at all haha. Ok, enough rambling, here are some little things you might want to know about me:

• My full name is Grace Audrey Proudfoot. "Grace" wasn't actually after anyone however I like to think the actress/princess Grace Kelly was a small influence in my parents name choice. My middle name, Audrey, was picked because of my nan whom I sadly never got to meet, she was called Audrey Amanda Beaumont, hence why my cousins name in Amanda. 

• I'm 15 years old as of June 25th 2013, so it has actually only been just over a month since my birthday. It's currently the second week of the summer holidays here in England so from September, I will be in Year 11 in school.

• I have an amazing family. I have an older brother named Jack who is 16 and 2 amazing parents. Unfortunately, I only ever met one of my grandparents, my Dad's mum, who is thankfully still with us today and one of the most important people in my life. She is also hilarious and comes out with the most random things which are completely irrelevant and also sometimes not exactly what you would expect someone over the age of 80 to be saying, but she's great. I have 33(ish) cousins including my second cousins so it's fair to say my family is rather on the large side.

• My friends are everything to me, as cheesy and cliché as that sounds. My 3 best friends, Molly, Lydia and Molly (that gets quite confusing sometimes) are the best and I love them loads. They're kind of the reason I got into makeup and clothes more as previously, it didn't interest me and I would only bother with the odd bit of mascara and concealer but since I've become closer with them, I've definitely got a lot more into it all, so much so that it is officially impossible for me to go into boots without purchasing anything but that's not the point... I've actually known Lydia and one of the Molly's since I was about 3 and we used to be best friends however as time went on, we gradually grew apart and it has only been in the past 6 months or so that we have really got close again and now we are back being best  friends! The other Molly, I am ashamed to admit, I met purely because we had mutual friends on facebook so I decided to add her and awkwardly message her. Then one day we decided to meet up and it was hella awkward but now look at us!
  Molly, Molly and Lydia don't go my school however so in school, I have a friendship group of 9 people who I can't be bothered naming but I love them all too.
  
• To put it bluntly; I'm tall, very. Considering I'm a 15 year old girl anyway, I think being 5'10.5" is quite unusual. However, compare me to my brother and I look like Zoe Sugg compared to Jim Chapman... yeah, he's 6'5"...
  Due to my height, I often find clothes very awkward to buy because what fits me round the waist, is always too short, then what fits me in the length, it always far too big round the waist. I think throughout this blog, I will include various "tall girl" (lol) posts where I will try to advice places to go to buy things that fit because it is a bloomin' nuisance.

My best friend and I revived "X Factor Signs" from Niall and Harry from One Direction whilst they were on X Factor and got very excited about it so edited them together. I remember getting mine from Harry and literally crying my eyes out because he knew I existed, although he decided to cover his beautiful face with the sign:(

This is what happens when Amanda and I are together; we cry of laughter. I can't even remember what had happened here since it was in 2010; it was properly something not even remotely funny. I do however, remember on this night that Amanda tried an olive for the first ever time, hated it, spat it out everywhere, chocked then we laughed for about an hour about it. Yeah, I love my family.
